The fourth and final HomeAway local open house was held in Woodstock, NY, on Saturday, September 26. We had the largest turnout of the four events and the event itself stretched to about two and a half hours.
Most of the vacation rental owners who attended lived and owned properties in the Woodstock area, but a couple owners listed rentals in places ranging from Cape Cod to Chile. We gained some perspective on the local area, the reasons people travel to Woodstock and how we can improve results for properties in that area.
As at the other local open houses, owners seemed to appreciate the opportunity to meet each other and trade stories and tips. One owner mentioned that living around Woodstock was in some ways like living in New York City where you often don't know your neighbors. This open house helped change that at least to a small degree.
We wanted to thank Cree Quaker who hosted the event and prepared the food and beverages, as well as Seth Miller who allowed us to have the event at his Woodstock vacation rental. Seth's rental is in an ideal location, close to Phoenicia and bordering a large pemanently wild forest area. With the large yard, pool, and quite of the forest, this rental makes a great getaway spot.
