Save our holidays

My husband and I have not had a holiday alone in quite a long time. We finally had booked a romantic holiday to Mexico in May, when the Swine flu hit. We cancelled and booked it for the following month. We were at the airport checking in when the person for the airline said “ Oh, did you extend your passport?” We were confused and realized within a second that we had expired passports. Needless to say, we did not make our flight that day. We have never done something so stupid as this. To matters worse, we could not re-book and lost all our money.
