HomeAway UK's New Gaff

With views overlooking Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, and the Houses of Parliament, it’s safe to say the HomeAway UK team was thrilled to move into their new digs this summer. The new London office represented a move out of Hammersmith and into Victoria; good bye to the days of musical office chairs where employees move desks a few times a year to make room for new employees. In the new office, we even squeezed in enough space for table tennis, which was temporarily put in storage due to a lack of space in the Hammersmith office. Nearly 100 people were involved in the move, which included our HomeAway.co.uk and Owners Direct teams, as well as the European team, which subsequently moved to Madrid. The new London office is 11,000 square feet and located on the 25th floor of Portland House, a 1960s iconic tower block.  Wish London Interior Architecture and Design created a unique setting and overall ‘British’ feel in the UK office, describing the new space as, “A strong and brave color palette has been selected throughout, balancing rich cozy areas with bright and lively work spaces. Large-scale holiday photographs wrap around the meeting rooms and offices, vintage suitcases act as pin boards and giant passport stamps line the walkways.  The staff areas include a spacious kitchen with an elegant dining counter that looks over the London skyline, there is also cozy relaxation snug inspired by a 1960’s club. The furniture, including the work stations has been designed and made in the UK, supporting both up and coming as well as established British designers and companies.”
