Over the Labor Day weekend, 10 HomeAwayers got up bright and early on Sunday morning and hit the pavement on behalf of Austin Sunshine Camps (ASC). In case you're not familiar, ASC aims to "create a better future and stronger community through mentoring, education and personal development of low income youth" in Austin. Check out this video for more information about their program:
The team joined riders from Google, BazaarVoice and Headspring to compete in a 25-mile cycling relay race, inspired by Indiana University's, Little 500. However, it wasn't just any cycling race - the teams rode Google's campus bikes, straight from their headquarters in Mountain View, Calif.
While we didn't take home the "W", the team definitely had fun and raised more than $2,500 for a great cause! And we had some of the best cycling gear, including an Oscar the Grouch helmet.
Thanks to Strength to Serve for hosting the event and for helping to raise awareness for ASC.
