HomeAway Heads North, Celebrates New Office Space with Happy Hour

As we announced last week, HomeAway is headed North - to North Austin, that is... The company continues to hire new team members at a rapid rate (our worldwide headcount has increased 167 percent since 2010), and as a result, we've quickly outgrown the three existing office spaces we occupy in Texas' capital city.

Our fourth permanent Austin office will be located in the Domain shopping complex and will be a five-story, 114,665 square-foot office that will seat approximately 750 employees – that's twice the size of our current world headquarters in downtown Austin!

It will be designed to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification and will be equipped with fun, family vacation-themed design elements that reflect the company’s culture and mission.

However, as with all construction, it won't be completed overnight. In fact, the new space won't be ready for move-in until the fall of 2014; so in the interim, several employees have moved in to a new home away from home at Research Park Plaza (RPP), also in North Austin.

In true HomeAway fashion, the team toasted their continued growth and success on Friday July 12 with a happy hour at the RPP office. The party gave everyone the chance to see our new digs and mix and mingle with geographically-dispersed Austin teammates.
