Our Chief Technology Officer Ross Buhrdorf, who is also an Austin Habitat for Humanity board member, was on hand to kick off the wall raising ceremony and help with the tasks for Day 1.
We also introduced the team to our partner family, The Mohameds. They moved to the U.S. from Sudan to make a better life for themselves. Despite a few hardships along the way, they are optimistic about the future. They just celebrated their daughter's first birthday last week and have a baby on the way, so a new home is the next step in helping this young family flourish.
Another exciting moment happened when we unveiled the new Bobcat that HomeAway helped purchase for Habitat. Their previous machine broke down earlier this year, so we decided to make a donation to help them buy this much-needed piece of equipment. We truly believe in the work that Habitat does for our community and beyond and are proud to help invest in their future.
