Fall is in full swing and many of us are craving that much-needed getaway. Everyone knows the warm feeling you get when you cozy up to the fire with a hot drink to enjoy quality time with a loved one. These fireside chats can be even more enjoyable in a HomeAway rental or B&B with fantastic fireplaces and fire pits.

You'll find a beautiful outdoor fire pit encircled by Adirondack chairs on Crisanver House's 120 acres of emerald tree-covered hills. Enjoy views of the Green Mountains as you relax by the crackling fire with a fresh scone and a hot cup of coffee or a glass of wine. Additionally, most of the rooms here have fireplaces, and hearths are lit daily in the inn's common areas during the colder months of the year.
There are four original floor-to-ceiling stone fireplaces that are more than 100 years old, one in the main common area and the others in deluxe suites. The fireplaces are made from the Arkansas river rock stones and have been converted to gas. The fireplaces provide a cozy, romantic atmosphere to each suite.
Have breakfast by the fire pit with views of Moosehead Lake and—if you're visiting in autumn—the fiery foliage of the nearby North Woods. Spend the night cooking s'mores (ingredients are provided) under a sky full of stars. On occasion, the chef will even prepare dinner at the fire pit—think clam chowder stewed over the flames. We certainly adore the Lodge Moosehead Lake's outdoor fire pit, but the property's cozy in-room gas fireplaces (there's one in every room) aren't too shabby either.
The August 2014 Napa earthquake damaged all four chimneys at Churchill Manor, and they had to be removed. They were replaced with 14 beautiful gas fireplaces: one in each of the 10 guests' rooms and four in the downstairs parlors. All rooms are stocked with thick terry cloth bathrobes so guests can bundle up and enjoy a glass of local California wine and cheese by the fire on a brisk fall evening.
