Q&A with the Designers At Consort
Aesthetically, what do you look for in a vacation rental?
M: We look for simple, fresh, modern spaces we could see ourselves kicking back inside.
Do you have any tips on how owners can make their guests feel welcome?
M: I love when the homeowners leave a list of their favorite hot spots in the area. We like to rent vacation homes to have a sense of locality, and always welcome suggestions for the best things to see and do!
What is three pieces of décor should owners have in their vacation rentals right now?
B: Big comfortable sofas, great servingware for cooking and entertaining, and an array of floor and table lamps for offset lighting. Say no to overhead!
Five Décor Ideas to Brighten Your Rental for Summer
1. Bright white paint:
Give your home a fresh coat of "Super White" by Banjamin Moore for an instant refresh.
2. Throw pillows:
The easiest way to update a room is by swapping out the throw pillows. Keep the house feeling seasonally appropriate by bringing in colors that celebrate the weather outdoors.
Make a great first impression with an impactful entrance. Paint your entry mirror a pop of color and find a graphic rug to welcome your guests.
4. Stock Chic Tabletop Decor:
If you're cooking at a vacation home, it's so nice to find a well stocked selection of tablecloths and dinnerware for Instagram-worthy dinner settings.
