Pointe West is a family-friendly residential development at the far west end of Galveston Island by the San Luis Pass bridge that was completely unharmed from Hurricane Harvey in 2017.
The community features two resort-style swimming pools, a beach-side Infinity Pool and bay-side Lazy River Pool, a fitness center, a restaurant and bar, a game room, a gift-shop, numerous small lakes and fishing ponds, and a series of bicycle trails and golf cart paths that run throughout the community.
There is a beach at the resort which is much different from what you see in Galveston. It's a big beach that's actually growing each year - the sand that erodes from the beaches east of Point West gets deposited here. Subdivision fees pay for regular beach cleaning, so even when the beaches in Galveston are covered with seaweed, Point West has nice clean beautiful sand. Also, unlike many beaches in Galveston where you can drive-on, the beaches here are year-round pedestrian only beaches, so it's very family friendly.
